Late George Floyd, Mr. Chauvin The Chauvinist and Africans

by Chris Ezeh

By Dr Timothy Oladele Gold. FCPDM, FISPN

An Elegy for late George Floyd,
Cowering under the cloud of chill
With pride lost like a defrosted snow.
Avoiding slippery ground of hails.
Lurking behind to parry the scoundrels
Alas! The black George is misjudged!

Sobbing to be heard in thralldom
Nay, a city of white idols and deities
Growing in pains of contempt!
Sidling to parry the glare.
Alas! The black George is misjudged!

Lonesome in the grave of cruelty!
Snoring to acknowledge a dirge
Humming the song of justice
The sotto voce of a hero, nay a victim
Alas! The black George is misjudged!

Chauvinism in the heart of “Chauvin’
venom in the knees of a scoundrel
Bow to pray, nay to prey.
An innocent throttled in pains
Alas! The black George is misjudged!
